In my experience, the DNA 5.0 version is more breathable than the Ultraboost 22. This is because the upper of DNA 5.0 features a meshlike design, allowing your feet to get enough ventilation.
With the reinforced upper, Ultraboost 22 is also breathable enough for runners. However, for me, DNA 5.0 version is the winner regarding breathability.

Plus, the back heel area of the Ultraboost 22 is rounded off to prevent ankle rollover.
Another difference between them is how the cage overlay is linked to the outsole. In Ultraboost 22, the cage overlay is floating, unlike DNA 5.0, where the overlay is attached directly to the sole.

Ultraboost 22 has excellent cushioning, and the outsole is so responsive that I always got a smooth running experience with it.
Yet it may not be a good option as a daily shoe for lounging around. Because the snug upper feels tight, and the angled-up toe-box may even give you foot fatigue.
DNA 5.0 is much more comfortable for day-to-day. Thanks to its breathable upper and roomy toe-box, your feet won’t feel stuffed even after staying in them for the whole day.

However, as already said before, Ultraboost 22 fits snugly, so if you buy them as lifestyle sneakers, I recommend you go half a size bigger. Otherwise, your feet may get fatigued if you wear them for a long time.
But if you are buying them for running or training, go with the regular size. In that case, the snug fitting will protect your feet from getting slipped by securing them in the right place.
And for the DNA 5.0, you can go with your true size, no matter if you want them for running or everyday use. With the broad-toe box, you will always get a comfy fit.
And the best thing about this shoe is that it’s fit comfortably to medium-wide feet as well, thanks to its roomy design. Conversely, Ultraboost 22 is a bit narrow for wide feet.
6. Traction Pattern
The outsole grip of both Ultraboost 22 and DNA 5.0 is great. And they held well while I ran on or walked down the stairs.
Both shoes feature a separate traction piece mounted on the outsole but with different patterns.
DNA 5.0 has a minimal approach in terms of traction. And just like its previous version, this pair features a grid pattern with extruded circles.
On the other hand, the Ultraboost 22 has a more scientific and functional approach with a stretch-web pattern. And in my experience, the grip of Ultraboost 22 is slightly better on the speed tracks.

Meanwhile, if you are a moderate runner, yet looking for a daily commuting pair, Ultraboost DNA 5.0 would be a better option. The breathable prime-knit upper and boost cushioning are perfect for everyday wear. And you can also use them for light running or training.
So, while buying any of the two Ultraboost, I would say go with the one that serves your purpose better.
