When I first slide my feet inside the Vomero 17, the foam around the sidewall bites my feet and gives a very comfortable, snug fit.

The upper is slightly thick and feels warm. There’s a small toe puff for protecting my fingers.

The tongue is wide and has ample padding. The lace uses a combination of eyelets and webbing.

On the other hand, Vomero Pegasus uses a lighter and more breathable engineered mesh upper.

The heel collar has medium cushioning to give good ankle support. The padding isn’t thick like Vomero but sufficient for regular training.

The toe box resembles Vomero, and I had no issue sliding my feet inside the shoe.

Pegasus has a more breathable upper and hugs my feet all its own. From my experience, I’ve found the fitting better than Vomero.

It has a pull tab at the back for putting on the shoes easily.

The toe puff at the front is bigger and has multiple spikes for better traction and support.

The tongue is wide and thick, just like the Vomero. But the lacing system is much simpler and better than Vomero.

It mostly follows a webbing lacing system and has two tongue locks for better support.

The shoe feels comfortable even after tightening the laces firmly.

Design

There are four eyelets and two webbings on each side of the Zoom Vomero. When I tie the laces, the tongue gives a firm fit and doesn’t hurt at all.

Vomero comes in black, white, blue, gray, and green colors. The Nike logo is on the medial and lateral sides of the shoes, matching the primary color contrast.

Also, there’s a Vomero branding webbed on top of the tongue.

Unlike Vomero, Nike Air Zoom Pegasus comes with a lot of color options. It offers black, white, green, blue, yellow, golden, and many more colors. You can also design your Pegasus and order the customized version.

The medial and lateral sides have the Nike logo at the midfoot area. The eyestay has a label of the Pegasus model, for example, Pegasus 40.

Midsole & Outsole

The latest Nike Air Zoom Vomero model uses a combination of ZoomX and Cushlon 3.0.

ZoomX is very soft and covers the upper midsole in the forefoot area. When the feet land on the forefoot, it gives a cushiony feel.

Later, the firm Cushlon 3.0 took control of the impact and rolled its feet forward.

The outsole in the Vomero is made of rubber, and Nike uses waffle lugs for traction and support. In contrast, Nike Pegasus uses React and Zoom Air units in their midsole.

React is firmer compared to Vomeros’ ZoomX. But it’s still very comfortable and feels good in a regular running session.

There are two Zoom Air units, one at the forefoot and the other at the heel area, to give bouncy feedback on each stride.

The push feels a bit aggressive and very efficient while running at a medium to high speed.

Similarly to the Vomero, the outsole in Pegasus is made of rubber and waffle lugs. However, the pattern is different in the two models.

Size & Weight

Both Nike Air Zoom Vomero and Pegasus are true to size. Nike offers half and full-size shoes for each variant.

I bought the same size of both pairs, and they fit exactly the same.

However, there’s an Extra Wide version that helps to accommodate the wider feet pretty easily.

Nike Vomero is mainly made for running with utmost comfort, while Pegasus is designed for versatility.

Vomero has a thick midsole, and the stack height is more than the Nike Pegasus. Also, it offers better cushioning on the upper.

So, the same-generation Nike Vomero is slightly heavier than the Pegasus.

Fit & Comfort

In terms of fit and comfort, there’s no concern with the Nike Vomero and Pegasus.

The Vomero offers more cushion inside, and the soft midsole gives an extremely pillowy feel after sliding in.

I’ve run 20K distance regularly, and the comfort was out of words.

The shoe encompasses everything by itself, and the warm upper welcomes the feet very well. The heel collar and counter have significant cushioning to give good ankle support.

Vomero has ample space in the forefoot area. So, no matter what type of foot you have, it will fit preciously.

On the other hand, Nike Pegasus offers a snugger and more dynamic fit.

It doesn’t have super cushioning inside, but the foam around the collar and the forefoot is sufficient for giving responsive feedback in every run.

I usually wear this during a quick training session and speedwork.

After putting it on, the Pegasus shoes wrap my feet and provide better support and comfort in an explosive run.

The forefoot has a roomy space to place most of the regular types of feet.

Pegasus is a versatile shoe capable of handling short and long distances easily. However, the comfort level won’t be top-notch in the long run, especially after 20K.

But it will give a perfect fit and comfort in a short distance or track.

Stability & Support

Nike Air Zoom Vomero and Pegasus both have similar stability. They are very comfortable and provide sufficient arch support.

Vomero offers a lot of cushioning around the heel collar and counter. It gives ankle support and comfort during training sessions.

The sidewall and forefoot area have comfy material to give a spongy feel to every step.

The upper of Vomero isn’t very stretchy. Therefore, the pronation is very neutral, and your feet won’t bend unexpectedly.

In my everyday running sessions, I haven’t found an excuse for stability and support. It’s impressively good and perfect for my feet.

Now, for the Pegasus series, I feel that it provides more stability and support comparatively.

The React foam underneath is firm and gives strong support in every stride. The heel collar has a good amount of cushioning for the ankle support.

Also, there’s no issue with the arch support and pronation.

The whole upper covers the feet very well, making the overall running experience fantastic.

Durability & Performance

Nike Vomero has impressive durability and performance on regular usage.

It’s specially designed for running 20K every day. I tested the shoe in different conditions, and it proved authentic.

So far, I’ve run more than 200 miles with the Air Zoom Vomero. The midsole is very responsive and feels soft at a slow pace.

The cushioning around the side wall and heel collar are in perfect condition and give me good support.

I haven’t seen any significant wear out at the outsole, and the lugs are in decent shape.

The breaking period of the shoe is very short, and I had no issue coping with the Vomero.

In my running experience, I find the best performance while running with a rhythm and maintaining a regular pace.

I’ve tried running fast with the Vomero, but the soft pillowy feel doesn’t support my feet best.

On the other hand, Nike Pegasus is highly durable and performance-oriented.

I’ve run around 100 miles on the track, tempos, and a quick 5K with the Pegasus. And to be very honest, the versatility and performance have impressed me.

No matter how I push the shoes, it easily adapts to the change of pace and gives me the best feedback.

The slow pace of running is very decent in the Pegasus. But it feels at up to 20K.

After running 20K continuously, the firm React foam starts to feel more often, and I can feel the rigid surface more clearly.

There’s around a $30 difference in both shoes in the official store. Both shoes are exceptionally good for running and are totally worth the price.
